In 2015, we partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Kingston & Area and with support from the Jays Care Foundation, helped to develop resources and set up the core elements of a Multi-Sensory Structured Language Program for the Club's primary aged members.

Program participants are explicitly taught letter sounds and decoding skills to learn to read and to spell.  These members are taught letter formation, and participate in phonological awareness exercises.  All of these elements are delivered in a 'multi-sensory' approach that includes visual, auditory, and kinesthetic-tactile methods to enhance the learning experience.  Boys & Girls Clubs of Kingston reach hundreds of kids, and it is fantastic that this program is now part of the daily schedule at all sites. Here's what the Whig Standard had to say: Boys & Girls Club program
